One Direction in Philly

And yet again,  I have gone another two months w/o a Youtube vid. I guess I'm going to accept the fact that this is a recurring thing considering videos are such a pain! While they're a pain, I also have a lot of fun creating them, so if you have any requests, just throw them at me now so I can do some filming before I head to France. Today's video is showing bits and pieces of my (second) One Direction concert experience. This time, they were in a much larger stadium and definitely upped their set design/line up. I hope you guys enjoy this vid! Also, keep in mind that we got stuck in a ton of traffic due to a bad highway accident (therefore we were slightly late) so I couldn't get too much footage going there. xo

Wearing:// Top: Zara, Skirt: Topshop, Shoes: Vince, Bag: Juicy Couture (Brentwood Leather Mini), Earrings: Local Boutique (Crystal Baguette Ear Jackets), Lips: Rebel by MAC w/Sephora clear gloss

I know, I know- I'm a bit late on the holographic trend. But there's no time like the present, right? When I spotted these shoes, I knew they'd fit nicely into my late summer transition into Fall, especially in Europe. While most sandals add a more lax vibe to outfits, this pair maintains the style factor while throwing in some comfort. Lately, I've been paying more attention to architectural details in different ways, as well as thoroughly enjoying mixed textures + metals, and I think this outfit wraps all that up into one look. The skirt has a waxed/glossy/rough texture that I obviously can't explain very well, but lets just say it's unique. Cool, even. I'm getting really creative with my adjectives as you can see. Oh, and I have to mention my new earrings- in love! I took a liking to the perplexing "ear jacket" trend (as Bauble Bar dubs them) quite a while ago, probably around the time I mass followed a bunch of jewelry designers. Normally, they are a bit more elaborate, with multiple jewels and tones along the bottom, but finding this simple faux diamond stud pair was a wonderful thing. I sure love me some jewelry.

When answering an ask on Tumblr about my future travels, I realized that I still have a lot of traveling left this month! At the end of this week, I will be heading to St. Louis for a few days with my mom to help move my brother into college. And a week later, I am going to Dallas to do some early birthday celebrating with my sister and mom too. In addition, I am going to Six Flags this Tuesday with my brother (Kingda Ka, we're coming for ya!) and then the 1D concert on Wednesday w/Allison! I'm such a busy bee- but I quite like that. I hope you guys have a wonderful week! xo

Coffee Talk

With my school year of traveling Europe approaching, I thought I would start doing "photo essay" inspired posts, which will basically be a series of pictures from specific places, as opposed to my more general photo diaries for longer vacations. For example, my longtime crony Kirra and I went out to lunch the other day in a small shopping area and discovered a new coffee shop, which happened to replace a chocolate store that we still miss. #qualitychocolatesneverforget Anyway, after spending what seemed like a half an hour scanning the extensive menu and then receiving our drinks shortly after, we were smitten. It is a place that has the type of vibe where way after finishing your delectable drinks or pastries, you will find yourself deep in conversation when you suddenly realize your lunch date has turned into an all day affair. Nothing better than that. Let me know what you guys think of this style of post and hope you are having a wonderful week! xoxo

The City

Wearing:// Dress: Brandy Melville (Not available online, similar here and here), Vest: Aritzia (Not available online, full jacket here), Shoes: Converse, Purse: 3.1 Phillip Lim

On my most recent trip to New York for visa related business, my mom and I were able to fit in some much needed shopping. Okay, not really 'much needed', but now that I will not need a uniform for the coming year in France, I have the justification of replacing my blazers and button-downs for euro style clothing! In preparation for this coming year, I've been trying to buy less in bulk and more consciously by buying some interchangeable pieces that can carry me from season to season. Because we alllll know I can't fit my clothes into only two suitcases like I need to. :) Although, this article from Teen Vogue has proved very helpful, I must say. One item on my list of 'need to buy' for a long time has been a t-shirt dress. While I didn't find the exact one I wanted, I found this stretchy bodycon-ish midi dress from Brandy Melville, which I can see myself styling through fall + winter. In order to add a bit of pizazz, I picked up a moto-style vest from the Aritzia sale that definitely adds to the look without adding too much fabric for the current weather.

Aside from the heat I just referred to ^^, can we discuss how annoying the weather has been of late? I'm in some serious need of sun and mother nature says, "Nope! Have some rain and gloomy clouds?" In the mean time, I've been practicing my French like a madwoman (I recommend the film 'Coco Chanel Avant Chanel') and attending beach concerts? Yeah, I don't know either. Seeing as I'm quite scatter brained and the night is no longer young, I shall be off to bed! Hope you guys had a splendid weekend. xx

Two Years & Update!

Two years ago today I sat down nervous as ever, and wrote my first blog post ever. To be honest, I don't think I knew what I was doing, nor do I really at the moment, haha. I actually can't believe I've stuck with blogging this long- I am definitely one to start something and quickly throw in the towel not long after beginning. Blogging, however, clearly does not fall under that category. It's still crazy to think that I began this website of mine at age fourteen, prior to the high school madness that would ensue. Although, I am definitely glad I made that decision on that summer day and ran with it- I can't imagine having not built the connections with blogging friends and readers that I have. And whether you're a new reader or a long time LBNF veteran, you rock. No doubt.

If you've been keeping up with my latest posts, you would know I've been hinting at an announcement of sorts. I've known that I was going to do this for months now, but never actually wrote about it on the blog. I don't think I came and still haven't come to terms with the realness of it, and blogging about it would validate it even more. Anyway, enough of my rambling- I am delighted to announce that this school year, junior year of high-school for me, I will be doing a school year abroad in France!! I'll be cafe venturing (probably blogging with a cafĂ© au lait in hand), hopefully speaking French on the regular, and just immersing myself as best I can in the time I have. The school is located about two hours outside Paris, so I can always swing by Paris Fashion Week. ;) It is just for one year, and I will be returning to my regular school for senior year just so you know. I hope you've enjoyed my posts these past two years and here's to more blogging in the future! *cheers*  xoxo Isabelle
